On back of monument: 32d Infantry, Commanded by Col. John Logan, Wounded. Advanced in line of battle April 6, 1862, through this field to the timber, then fell back to this position and engaged the enemy from about 9.30 to 11.30 a.m., when it moved to the left and rear of the 41st Illinois. The regiment lost in the battle 3 officers and 36 men killed; 6 officers and 108 men wounded; 5 men missing; total, 158.
This monument is located on the south side of the Peach Orchard.
