Loomis' Michigan Battery

This monument has one of the better reliefs.  It has aged well over the past 100 years, better than some others.  Sometimes I wonder if the monument commissions gave much thought to how their monument would age over time.  In some cases they are so wore down due to weather that you think they couldn't have given it much thought at all.  Then in this case is it a happy accident or good planning?
