Went into position here about 9.00 a.m., April 6, 1862; advanced to right and front, and after a sharp encounter fell back to this position where its greatest loss occurred. About 4 p.m. it moved to assist McClernand. Loss in the battle, 2 officers killed; 2 wounded; 15 men killed; 79 wounded; 1 missing; total, 99.
I have a letter picked up in front of a federal tent during the battle of Shiloh by a confederate officer .It was addressed to a Capt.Perey. Wonder if anyone might know of him? My email is tedlemieux@yahoo.com
