This regiment was engaged here from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., April 6, 1862. It had present for duty, officers and men 647. Its loss was 2 officers and 13 men killed; 3 officers and 70 men wounded; 45 men missing; total, 133.

My great grandfather, Henry Friar,
was one of the wounded, losing an eye and damaging the other, but he still later re-enlisted in Co. G, 169th OVI along with his younger brother Louis. They were quartered at Ft. Ethan Allen. I appreciate all the detailed info on Shiloh.
